Bottega

Bottega is the second in Chef Frank Stitt's family of restaurants and expresses his love for provincial Italian cuisine. Bottega consists of a cafe and a restaurant, both housed within the historic Bottega Favorita building in the Highlands district. The cafe features brick oven baked pizza, pastas, and classic Italian entrees, and offers dining al fresco on a lovely patio, weather permitting. The restaurant is Bottega's formal personality, with a warmly-lit dining room paneled in walnut and a beautiful copper bar. The menu features classic Italian dishes such as veal scaloppine as well as original creations such as sweet potato ravioli with braised pheasant. An extensive wine list features over 180 selections available by the bottle and 16 available by the glass.

Directions: From the Riverchase Galleria, exit the mall on the East side, turn left onto US-31. Immediately move to the right lane and turn right on I-459. Go East 1.5 miles to exit #15, I-65 North. Go North 9 miles to exit #259 (University Blvd.). Bear right on University Blvd. Go 0.9 miles and turn right on 20th Street South. Go 0.4 miles and turn left on Highland Avenue South. Go 0.4 miles. The restaurant is on the left.
